In 1975, the Peruvian national football team won its second Copa América, marking an indelible milestone in the country’s sporting history. This film relives the feat of that legendary team and pays tribute to the heroes who, with talent, character, and passion, brought glory back to Peruvian football and ignited the pride of an entire nation.

He dirigido, producido y postproducido reportajes y documentales para el diario El Comercio (Perú). Mi reciente documental, Fuimos Héroes, conmemora a los campeones de la Copa América de 1975, una generación de futbolistas que salvó al fútbol peruano. Anteriormente, dirigí CHAKARUWAQ: El ingeniero del último puente inca, obra nominada en los festivales de cine Documenta 2023 (Francia–Venezuela) y FENACI 2023 (Perú). A nivel nacional, cuento con varios reconocimientos, entre ellos el Premio a la Excelencia Periodística Padre Urías (2021, 2022 y 2023) otorgado por El Comercio, obteniendo por tres años consecutivos los galardones en las categorías Mejor video y Mejor propuesta innovadora. En 2011 recibí una mención honorífica en el Festival de Cine Documental DOCUPERÚ. Mi pasión por el cine y la cultura latinoamericana me ha llevado a desarrollar documentales que resaltan temas de corte social, cultural, tradicional y natural, principalmente del interior del Perú.
I have directed, produced, and post-produced reports and documentaries for the newspaper El Comercio (Peru). My recent documentary, We Were Heroes, commemorates the champions of the 1975 Copa América, a generation of footballers who saved Peruvian football. Previously, I directed CHAKARUWAQ: The Engineer of the Last Inca Bridge, a film nominated at the Documenta 2023 Film Festival (France–Venezuela) and the FENACI 2023 Film Festival (Peru). Nationally, I have received several awards, including the Padre Urías Journalism Excellence Award (2021, 2022, and 2023) from El Comercio, which I won for Best Video and Best Innovative Proposal for three consecutive years. In 2011, I received an honorable mention at the DOCUPERÚ Documentary Film Festival. My passion for cinema and Latin American culture has led me to develop documentaries that highlight social, cultural, traditional, and natural themes, primarily from Peru’s interior.
